Why I Decided to Learn Web Development

I first fell in love with computers when my parents brought home our first PC back in the 5 ¼” floppy days. I was instantly hooked and before long I was helping everyone I knew with their PC issues; funny to think of now as I was probably about 10 at the time.

Fast forward eight years and I was in college for Mechatronics Engineering where I was first exposed to a course that taught Java. I was fascinated by the idea that I could create something from nothing by using code. As the course was more mechanically focused there wasn’t much else in programming to keep my interest.

Later on, I worked with a colleague that was a wizard with JavaScript, this was the first time I witnessed live websites being manipulated before my eyes and my childhood wonder of my first computer experience came back. My colleague created a bunch of tools that made everyone’s job so much easier and I wanted to be able to do that as well.

After diving in to the world of Web Development I knew I had truly found my passion. I absolutely love coding and am determined to make this my career. The concept of being able to have a great idea and then having the means to bring this idea to life is absolutely fascinating to me. I also want to leave the impact on others that was left on me from my colleague. I was so thankful that he was there to streamline various processes as things were so much easier because of the programs he created. My aim is to help others in the same way and have a great time doing it. That is why I decided to learn web development.
